Jake Carver

Jake Carver is a journalist interested in all things literary, musical, and cultural. He's a Los Angeles native studying at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina.

Please tell us a bit about yourself. I'm an English/computer science double major at Davidson College, originally from Santa Clarita, California. In my free time, I'm an editor for two papers on campus and an athlete on Davidson's cross country and track teams.

What are you interested in: My dad has been a drummer in bands since I was a kid and I play guitar myself, so I've always been interested in music and the creative process in general. I love writing, especially nonfiction and journalism. Even when writing fiction, most of my inspiration comes from interviewing and interacting with people. I'm also a film geek, and spend a good portion of my free time watching movies.

What you wish to accomplish at Flaunt. By the end of this internship, I want to have a few pieces of writing that I'm proud of. Hopefully I'll also meet and interview some interesting people, and have a solid idea of how a magazine like Flaunt is run.
