Tory Lanez | “And This Is Just The Intro” Visual

Tory Lanez continues to feed his fanbase with endless music and visuals, proving his work ethic has not faltered in the slightest given his recent separation from his major label along with the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the release of his highly-anticipated R&B capsule titled PLAYBOY, inspired by his deepest thoughts and feelings in his most vulnerable state, the Toronto native returns with his newest music video for “And This Is Just The Intro.”

Lanez sings in the video: “I know it's just the intro and this shit get deep, but I've got my reasons. I put my work in it, wasn’t worth it. My stresses turned you to the person for somebody else, I made you worth it for somebody else. I endured all of your flaws 'til I broke through all the walls of your guard, now you're perfect for somebody else.”

Within a week of the project’s release, PLAYBOY accumulated over 20 million streams and catapulted to the #1 spot on Apple Music's R&B/Soul. The new visual for “And This Is Just The Intro” sees Lanez performing the record at Cascade Skating Rink in Atlanta, Georgia, crooning about an ex-lover who has left him for somebody more affluent.

Speaking on the project, Tory states, “Emotionally, I was able to flow creatively. Some of my best creations come out when I'm vulnerable. This is me being as honest as I can be on a record. For the first time in a long time, I was writing R&B from a place of hurt and vulnerability, Unlike a lot of my other R&B which is based on the pure vibe and catchy melodies."

Real name Daystar Peterson recently partnered with Bondly.Finance to release rare digital art and new unreleased tracks via NFT' (non-fungible tokens), which sold out in under 2 minutes. As a result, Tory became the highest streamed, independent artist to release full songs as NFTs prior to the album's release on other digital platforms. On the entrepreneur tip, Lanez released an alkaline water titled Umbrella Water through Artesia Springs, which went to relief efforts in Texas and Louisiana.
