Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, shown at Paris Fashion Week, brought a Cinderella-style fantasy to life with a daring flair.
The collection, set on a backdrop with a 7-foot-tall sparkling shoe, starts off with 20 grand silk taffeta opera coats with matching saddle shoes in a slew of color combinations, waiting for the shoe’s owner.
The stepmother and stepsisters stomp through with polka-dotted, half-drapped silk taffeta dresses and wedged saddle shoes.
The original group of 20 returns, continuing the polka dots with oversized and tailored outfits in whimsical colors—mixing refined proportions with dropped waists and cropped shirts, followed by the fairy godmother.
‘Cindy’ (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez), steps into the shoe, wearing a white, pleated opera coat embroidered with gold and finished with navy satin tails, and transforms—leaving in style with a pink tulle Cadillac.
