Thom Browne and Samsung Debut the New Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition

… i’m not ready yet ...

shoulders back

eyes ahead

the office is open ...

a cue to motion

desk by desk

the typing begins ...

a phone rings

the call expected ...

… i’m not ready yet …

the typing stops,

the typing resumes

is this future or past ...

a phone rings

the call expected ...

… i am ready now …

phone in pocket

briefcase in hand,

a door opens ...

… and i am ready now …

Thom Browne and Samsung celebrated the new Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition with a special performance at Sotheby’s New York. The afternoon demonstration was inspired by the unique design collaboration, meditated on time, work and transformation.

Guests of the event included Eliza Scanlen, Xiao Wen Ju, Nick Robinson, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Jordan Roth, Jessica Williams, Cameron Dallas, Ella Hunt, Mel Ottenberg, Ian Bradley and Nicholas Braun.

At the reception, over Krug champagne and Sant Ambroeus hors d’oeuvres, Thome Browne and Samsung premiered a short film, also granting guests the opportunity to interact with the premium package in individual Thom Brown offices.

The new Galaxy Z Flip transforms under the stylish presence of Thom Browne. The premium package fuses both aesthetics, merging technology with the designer’s visual identity. Design elements are drawn from the Thom Browne world and his singular iconography, metamorphosing the sleek Galaxy Z Flip exterior into a grey Thom Browne suit with signature brand colors in tow. As the classic longwing brogues become a grey pebble leather phone case.

Thom Browne’s world seeps into every aspect of the phone as iconic blinds, a midcentury office reference appears onscreen each time the phone is turned on and off. App icons are labeled in classic text, sound cues match the tone. A typewriter for the keyboard - a shoe tapping on a marble floor for the analog ringtone, - evoking the aural landscape of the office worker.
