The Glow Up | Illuminize Peel
by BJ Panda Bear
Maybe there is something truly based in the fact that sometimes a glow up literally means glowing the fuck up. I recently was invited to try out the Illuminize Peel treatment from SkinMedica with Dr Arash Moradzadeh. At first I was worried that I would end up looking like Samantha Jones after her skin peel in that episode of Sex and the City. Then I was reassured that this peel was the only peel that matter ahead of any Hollywood starlets shining moment, this one was considered the “Red Carpet Peel”… I was beyond enthused.
The treatment itself took less than 5 minutes and was so quick I could barely feel the tingle. Starting off with a cleansing swab of alcohol and then the actual peel itself which felt like an exfoliating acidic toner more than anything considerably invasive.
Before I knew I was back at my car and on the way to work. As the day wore on the tone on my skin felt even and the glow was out of this world, I felt like for a moment my face was blinging as hard as a tray of Cartier jewelry on display. Later in the evening I went to dinner and have to say I felt gorgeous, something more than glowing maybe the right word is illuminated. After work I went to the Ritual Projects LA launch with 69 and Meals Clothing and was surrounded by so many people asking me what was different, something resonated with them wether it was the peel or my over all expressive nature. Something is always enlightening when you treat yourself right.
I left the treatment on my skin for 24 hours at which time my face when from diamond to frost, the dead skin started to flake as part of treatment a vital process in having the new skin come to shine. After a face wash and good moisturizing my face was back to proper standards. It was a perfect moment for more hero shots via selfies.
