Flaunt Premiere | Reo Cragun "Cuss You Out"

With a smooth sound and eclectic taste, rising artist Reo Cragun debuts his newest single, “Cuss You Out” featuring Jumpa and Press start ahead of his big debut album “Beam Me Up” in June.

After touring with Billie Eilish, Flume and Lil Yatchy, Reo has built himself up with growing streams and social media presence, prepping for the big break. Last month he released his first single “Grown Men Don’t Cry” after partnering with BMG, now he’s back with a more upbeat song celebrating the ending of a toxic relationship.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Washington, just north of Portland, Reo found himself engulfed in all sorts of music. From Eminem to Linkin Park, down to Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and more, he’s concocted a sound of his own.

“It's like electronic music with hip-hop drums. It's, it's like a smorgasbord of shit but something that still resonates with people,” Reo said laughing trying to explain what’s he’s creating. “I'm trying to kind of do what KiD CuDi was doing for me back in the day. The music is still real and the lyrics are still honest you know, the music is just a little more in your face right now for the time.”

While he focuses on hip-hop music, it’s clear his expansive music knowledge allows for an experimental sound that will define Reo for the rest of his career. “My mom grew up playing Pac in the house nonstop; one of my favorite rappers to this day is Biggie Smalls. So, I was still listening to a lot of rap and whatnot, but it's crazy I grew up like in a pretty predominantly White area, so there was a lot of different music being played around me.”

With that in mind, he found it hard to fit in, forcing him into his own lane of truth and real life. Taking the full recording process and completing songs on his own Reo can hold tight to his evolving yet signature sound. Although we’re stuck in the house, he’s using this time to create under the sound of his own being.
