Reese Cooper | Debuts Spring-Summer 2023 Collection
by Sheila Pippin
Yesterday, Reese Cooper made his first live appearance on the FHCM calendar with a runway show and presentation entitled “Seed & Soil.” The show was hosted at the stunning and historic botanical garden Jardin des Plantes in Paris.
The show was divided into three parts, soil, water, and light, to emulate the elements required to initiate nature’s growth cycle and form the beautiful environments around us. The “Seed & Soil” theme was also inspired by the brand’s “grass roots” beginnings.
With inspiration from nature and its elements, the collection featured landscapes and blueprints set on silk dresses, blouses and camisoles. A number of Scarves also featured botanical species found in the park and painted onto the silk by artist and designer, Juliet Johnstone.
A signature at Reese Cooper, the collection featured their seasonal varsity jacket which had bespoke chenille patches and intricate embroidery inspired by the Parisian park.
Also making appearances in the collection were pieces from Reese Cooper’s recent collaboration with Levi’s that includes 10 iconic Levi’s pieces updated with a Reese Cooper flare. The collaboration will be available for sale at a Reese Cooper x Levi’s Pop-Up in Paris and on the Reese Cooper website.
Finally, the show also offered guests a sneak peek of the Reese Cooper x Thierry Lasry sunglasses collaboration. This assortment of sunglasses showcase the Cooper taste for camouflage, forest green and signal orange which corresponds perfectly with the Thierry Lasry Flexxy that will be released this summer.
