Rani Bageria | Independent Designer Releases Fall Campaign

Luxury leather footwear and accessories brand Rani Bageria has released their latest collection for the Fall season. The Vienna-based independent designer has made a name for herself in the fashion industry for her craftsmanship and high quality designs.

Rani Bageria discusses the process of releasing her newest collection as well as where she draws inspiration from for her designs.

Rani Bageria has been counted as one of Austria’s up-and-coming fashion labels. Does the pressure to innovate ever get to you?

No, new ideas come to me easily, it is the most enjoyable part, editing is where the work starts.

What was some of the inspiration behind this fall campaign?

I gave carte blanche to fellow artists Ajla Ayidan (Concept) and Sattva Giacosa (Photography), who decided to draw back to a remote and peculiar 70s holiday residency near the Danube river. The products were shot around the house and garden on analogue film and you can feel the melancholy but also the intimate exploration of the theme, from cellar to attic. Both women share the sensibility of people who have left their birth countries and are able to synthesize multi-layered cultural references – a core signature of Rani Bageria design language. Also Ajla has basically lived in Raniboots for years.

All items from the Rani Bageria brand are made in family-run manufacturers across the EU. Is supporting local family businesses important to the brand?

Indeed I love to work with small family-run businesses. The human factor is very important and it is amazing that these small artisanal producers still exist in Europe. We are small businesses supporting each other which I am very proud of. Also all productions are female-led and we go the extra mile to make the products fit for reality beyond the latest trends.
