LIGHTNING STRIKES AT LEAST THREE TIMES WITH GEM&BOLT
Mexico’s mythical mezcal is making a break for the border. According to legend, hundreds of years ago a lightning bolt struck the gem of a maguey plant and mezcal was born.
Our pals at GEM&BOLT dropped by the Flaunt office to share their unique concoction, which is made with 100% agave, and infused with Mexico’s treasured damiana herb.
Daughters of bootleggers, Adrina Drina and Elliott Coon have partnered with fourth-generation distillers in Oaxaca, Mexico to provide a clean, pure spirit. All the ingredients are fairly traded and organically grown, and the female-run company has made sustainability a priority.
GEM&BOLT were so kind as to invite us to crawl inside their lovely bottles just to find out what emerged on the other side.

Sid: Finding water when it was sorely needed.
Matthew: Candle-lit cathedrals along the fabled waterways of Europe met with a roller coaster ride through the heart of Mexico.

Matthew: Clean, lean, slightly-obscene.
Mui-Hai: Incandescent, melody, dawn.
Gus: Soft, curvaceous, trouble.

Matthew: Acid Polly’s sunrise set at the inaugural Day Zero.

Sid: Hot air balloon over a Bolivian salt flat.
