In honor of the Los Angeles premier of her Netflix documentary, Circus of Books, renowned visual artist, musician, and filmmaker Rachel Mason (aka FutureClown) will take the stage at Outfest’s Platinum Alchemy Party on July 20th for an exclusive performance of her new single, “Give You Everything.” The song, now available on Spotify, is the film’s closing track, and will be followed by a full-length album, Circus Life, which will be released in conjunction with the documentary’s release.

Circus of Books, Mason’s second feature-length project, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, centers around the iconic titular West Hollywood adult bookstore that Mason’s parents ran for many years. The documentary follows the store from 2014 until its closing (following the closing of its Sherman Oaks and Silverlake branches in the late 1990s and 2016, respectively) earlier this year. The film is scheduled to headline the opening night gala for Outfest, Los Angeles’ longest-running LGBTQ film festival.

The “Give You Everything” includes both the original track and mixes by electro-punk duo LA Drones, and the film’s composer, and house/electro pioneer Man Parrish. Of Parrish’s contribution to the song, Mason stated that, “Man Parish’s original songs provide the film a direct link to the legacy of queer dance music which was central to the culture around the store at its heyday.”

The Platinum Alchemy party, which will run from 8 pm to midnight, boasts a lineup of both established and up-and-coming talent, including Madame Gandhi, Jesse Saint John, Tolliver, Chanel & the Circus, and DJ sets by Josh Peace and Bapari. Tiffany Naiman, the film festival’s programmer, will be curating the event. Tickets, which include an open bar, are $25, or $20 with Outfest ticket stub or Outpass).

The Outfest Platinum Alchemy party will take place on Saturday, July 20th, at Stellar Stag, 205 S. Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90004 from 8 pm to Midnight.
