There’s almost nothing worse than seeing man’s best friend suffer the onset of sickness and old age. That’s why we’re glad our beloved canines can now be properly consoled with cannabis. At the helm of a pet-pot niche within the sprawling marijuana market, consumer dog treats such as Canna-Biscuits and Treatibles are putting dogs at ease with their therapeutic, non-psychoactive, formulas. 4/20 is around the corner, so stock up!

A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN

About a year ago, a strange phenomenon began in New York City. Living rooms, bedrooms, and dining rooms were cropping up on the streets. The culprit? Justin Bettman. The artist set up fully furnished rooms on the streets, took his own photos, and then left the sets to New Yorkers in an interesting gesture towards the democratization of art. Now, Bettman has found the ultimate setting: Times Square. To celebrate the opening of the Tribeca Film Festival (April 15- 26), the artist constructed a gorgeous one-bedroom (cheapest rent in the city!), which has already served as the backdrop for countless tourist and visitor photo shoots. The room will be on view April 15-19.

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR?

Not only does Rihanna have a lot to say about money and sex, she’s also taking on the United States of America. In her new video, American Oxygen, Riri pieces together powerful American images—positive, poignant—from historically defining moments to current-day controversies. Among the video’s most memorable lines is “This is the new America. We are the new America."

BREAKING NEWS

Like shouting “fire” in a crowded theater, Balenciaga listed a handbag for under $200—accidentally, of course. A glitch in the haute fashion site Thursday afternoon mislabeled handbag prices for a fraction of their normal price, causing a nation-wide frenzy. A $2,000 purse was suddenly $195, and the Internet reacted accordingly. We’re guessing that Balenciaga will not honor the purchases made during the glitch, but who knows, someone might end up with a Spring miracle.

WON’T YOU STEP INTO MY BALLOON?

In an attempt to expose the oppressive regime of Kim Jong Un, human-rights activists have dropped 10,000 copies of The Interviewinto North Korea by giant balloons. The film, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, is a satirical criticism of the dictator, and was met with terrorist threats before its release in 2014. In addition to The Interview, the activists also dropped “love drives,”—USBs containing content like Romeo and Juliet, the movie Titanic and happy songs chosen by celebrities.

GET ME THE DATA SET STAT

There’s an app for that, but these two artists don’t want it. In Dear Data, a data visualization art collaboration between Giorgia Lupi and Stefanie Posavek, the two send each other weekly handwritten postcards with data about their own lives. Each week, they make visualizations of personal data sets (for instance, to do lists), and swap them. Despite the similarity in their sets, though, the elaborate visualizations that the artists draw on the postcards are dramatically different and creative. New cards are delivered on Wednesdays, and they are currently on week 32.

WHAT IF I WANT TO FEEL LIKE I HAVE UDDERS

In season one of HBO's Girls, the worldly yet self-destructive Jessa, played by Jemima Kirke, schedules an abortion—an appointment that she ends up missing due to the timely arrival of her period. Now Kirke tells the story of her actual 2007 abortion in a short video for the Center for Reproductive Rights. BUTTERCUP HAS A SURPRISE

Post-sloth advertisement we didn’t think that things at American Apparel could get any sadder. We were wrong. The company, which has been battling legal trouble for the past year (mostly centered around recently ousted founder Dov Charney) is now facing lawsuits from three of the 200 laid off workers this year. To make matters worse, Charney has teamed up with the enraged AA workers, and showed his support with an impassioned speech at Hermandad Mexicana’s rally last weekend. Yikes.

FIND ME A FOUNTAIN

A French cinematic legend and a teenage vampire sensation collide in the melancholic, reflective, and ultimately triumphant film, Clouds of Sils Maria. The film stars Juliette Binoche as a washed up, middle-aged actress struggling with her career and fading youth—a youth that is impressively represented by Kristen Stewart, who plays the actress’s assistant. You can watch the trailer here, and find theaters showing the movie here.
