A museum about broken relationships is about to open in Los Angeles.

This is the call for submissions put out by the Museum of Broken Relationships, due to open in Los Angeles this coming May.

Yes, you heard right, you can finally get rid of those painful mementos without throwing them away, so that hundreds of strangers can empathize with your struggle to get over your ex.

This might sound like a strange concept, but it is not the first the first edition of the project. Croatian artists Olinka Vištica and Dražen Grubišic opened the first museum in Zagreb in 2010, and since then they have hosted exhibitions all over the world.

The second permanent Museum of Broken Relationships will be located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. It will contain 100 objects each with text explaining their significance to the original owners.

If you have any leftover junk too meaningful to throw away but too painful to keep, you can donate you own memorabilia to the museum. Alternatively, if you enjoy voyeuristically immersing yourself in other people’s pains and memories, now you can (and not feel like a weirdo).
