The Wyman Bar | NeueHouse Opens New Speakeasy at the Bradbury Building
by Anna Brosnihan
Known for creating workspaces for artists to socialize and network, NeueHouse celebrated the opening of The Wyman Bar on October 1st.
NeueHouse is a private, members-only company that provides various work and social spaces for creatives. With locations in New York and Los Angeles, NeueHouse places itself at the epicenter of arts and culture, creating an opportunity for members to connect over shared passions.
Their latest addition, The Wyman Bar, is a speakeasy bar located at the company’s newest location, the iconic Bradbury building in downtown LA. The Bradbury, which is known for its exquisite architecture and its appearance in various films and TV Shows, provides the perfect experience for those who posses a love for the arts. The bar, which can function as both a work and social environment, creates a warm, welcoming space for members to frequent both during or after work. From coffee and latte’s, to cocktails and beers, The Wyman provides a multifaceted space to inspire artists both on a personal and professional level.
The opening celebration kicked of with the debut of the bar’s photographic exhibition, Chapter Three: Blade Runner, which commemorates the Bradbury's role as a set for the original 1982 Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott. The exhibition presents a carefully selected collection of set photos taken by late photographer, Stephen Vaughan, as well as unreleased contact-sheets that tell the story of the film’s creation frame by frame. The exhibition will be available to members and others via invite following the bar’s opening.
