Muzi | North American Tour Diary
by Nate Rynaski
There’s a reason why South African dance artist Muzi is nicknamed the Zulu Skywalker. Showing true resilience despite a worldwide pandemic that canceled the first round of his headline tour, Muzi’s unyielding determination brought the Interblaktic experience to stages across America last month. Kicking off with two performances at Lightning In A Bottle, Muzi’s futuristic Afro-house sound and charismatic on-stage persona left its mark on cities including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Detroit, and more. Intent on delivering special performances throughout the tour, Muzi surprised fans with an appearance at the A-Trak & Friends Block Party at The Brooklyn Mirage, released his collaborative NFT music video for ‘I Like It Like That’ at The Virgil in Los Angeles, and dropped a tribute to Chicago house music in the form of ‘A Day In Chicago’. In Muzi’s tour diary, the artist shows an intimate look behind the scenes of his headline North American tour.
