Flaunt Exclusive Track Premiere: Pixx
by flaunt
Meet the newest voice in the venerable tradition of experimental British pop — 22 year old Hannah Rodgers, otherwise known as Pixx. Born outside of South London, the young talent graduated from the BRIT School and made her first dent in the music world with Fall In in 2015. While still a teenager, her debut EP was hailed by the Sunday Times as “one of the most arresting debuts of the year.” Since then, she has been touring with the likes of Glass Animals, Daughter, The Lemon Twigs, and Methyl Ethel.
The singer and guitarist, who is also the newest member of the acclaimed independent music label 4AD (ever heard of the Pixies?), sites folk band Simon & Garfunkel as one of her early inspirations. Her passion for music with a message shines through in her latest debut album The Age of Anxiety.
The Age Of Anxiety is a playful, ethereal affirmation to a generation shaped by unprecedented societal pressures, from the loneliness that sprawls from social media to the general unease following the barrage of political turbulence we've all sustained. Pixx debuted her video for the single “I Bow Down” — a video that explores the many facets of identity, the perfect introduction to an album as striking as The Age of Anxiety. We're proud to premiere her latest, along with her answers to Flaunt's famed "20 Questions". Take a listen and a look below.
