Jay Z Releases New Video For “MaNyFacedGod” Starring Lupita Nyong'o

Jay-Z doesn't fail to deliver. He keeps releasing artistic visuals for his latest album 4:44. Right after dropping his video for “Moonlight” last week, Jay gave the world an astonishing visual piece for his song “MaNyFacedGod” on Friday (August 11) as a Tidal exclusive. The video stars Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar winning actress and 12 Years A Slave star, in a way that portrays almost every emotion. The short film takes place within a dark mood scenery with Nyong'o emotionally distraught, devastated, and full of anger. 

Eventually, the film takes a sentimental turn, going into a more bright scenery. The story behind the masterpiece is, like the album, how apologetic and appreciative Jay-Z is to wife Beyoncé after his apparent wrongs. Lupita ends the video with a powerful message reflecting the song saying "Be grateful for whatever comes because each has been sent from a guide from beyond.” To find out more and see the full story behind the short film, check out the video above.
