The Festival of Disruption is an annual gathering that is curated by American director, writer, musician and actor, David Lynch. It takes place at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on October 14-15 this year. The event will raise funds for the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace, which was created by Lynch himself in 2005.

The purpose behind it was to help educate on the teaching of Transcendental Meditation. Lynch is a practitioner of the art, which is a form of silent mantra meditation, that is practiced twice a day in 15-20 minute increments. According to the foundation’s site, Lynch found that this meditation was powerful when he witnessed it being used by many different types of people, including those with post-traumatic stress disorder and this is what influenced the creation of the charity.

The event will feature music from artists like Bon Iver, The Kills, TV On the Radio, Sharon Van Etten, Laura Marling and more. Music isn't the festival’s only draw; There will also be several exhibits from William Eggleston, and David Lynch. As well as several film screenings including films like Lost Highway and Los Angeles Plays Itself, talks, and of course meditation.

With only a month to go till the festival there are only a few tickets left. For more information on the festival head over to Festival of Disruption’s website.
