The McLaren Senna XP
by Issabella Lovazzano
Three rare McLaren Senna XP models are being released by McLaren Beverly Hills this December. In the past, the McLaren Senna had only 500 models which were immediately taken prior to the manufacturing in 2018. The new and extraordinary XP cars are set to be rarer, more individualized, and inspired by three of Ayrton Senna’s greatest racing achievements with McLaren Automotive.
Each body is designed with gloss carbon fibre and are carefully detailed in the flag colors from countries that have hosted the Grand Prix. Master of Monaco honors Ayrton’s six victories between 1989 and 1993.
Lap of the Gods celebrates the 1993 season in the UK when Ayrton crossed the finish line a minute and a half before the driver in second place. This race was also considered the best opening-lap charge in F1 history.
The third model is called Home Victory, tributing Ayrton’s 1991 Brazil win. With only 6th gear left, Ayrton managed to win the Interlagos race and exclaims it to be “one where I gave everything I had.”
With over 780 hours put into the supercar’s composition, the interior also includes gloss carbon fibre sills along with matching airbrushed paint. More special features include custom brake calipers, a 12 o’clock steering mark, embroidered headrests, and many more unique additions. All three models have a MSRP of $1,435,328.
On December 8th, enthusiasts can view the cars at O’Gara Coach’s Sunset GT at Sunset Plaza in Los Angeles.
