Lolo Zouaï | "Caffeine"

by Hannah Jackson

Lolo Zouaï’s dream pop sound mixed with her cheeky lyrics have certainly made her one to watch. The 24-year old songstress dropped her flashy neon video for “Caffeine” off her debut album High Highs to Low Lows, which serves an homage to the ‘90s and ‘00s video queens (think Britney and Christina) but with a futuristic twist.

Though Zouaï is a fresh face, she has already catapulted to prominence, and has drawn comparisons to chart-topping superstars like Ariana Grande and H.E.R. (whom she has already collaborated with). Don’t think for a second that she’s a cookie cutter pop star, though. The Paris-born songstress’ unique sound draws inspiration from her Arabic roots, and her charmingly tough persona is representative of the Brooklyn girl she has become.
