Flaunt Premiere | Take a Look Into Last Dinosaurs' World
by Sam Franzini
Brisbane-based indie rock trio Last Dinosaurs have released their new breezy, vocoder-sprinkled single, “Look Back.” The new song and their other 2022 single, “Collect Call,” mark a return for the band, who last released music in 2020. With a tour on the horizon, including an appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago, the band is ready to make 2022 their year.
“Waiting around, feeling the days get longer, losing our minds doing the same old patterns,” sings Lachlan Caskey atop a hazy and laid-back beat. The themes of isolation continue in the music video for the song, immediately recognizable to anyone who has spent hours playing The Sims. Caskey plays the the guitar strolling around scenes cut diagonally as if he’s in a video game and the audience is snooping. Set floating in the middle of space, the liminality of the song sets in.
“Look Back” is available to stream now, and you can watch the music video below.
