Lamborghini | Last Produced Aventador to be Auctioned with a 1:1 NFT

by Madeleine Schulz

Automobili Lamborghini is looking to the future, dipping their toes into the blending of physical and digital worlds. Lamborghini is set to auction off the last ever produced model of the classic Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Coupé. Not only will the auction, hosted by RM Sotheby’s, bid goodbye to the iconic car, but the highest bidder will also walk away with an accompanying one of one NFT. This move, a first for Automobili Lamborghini, comes off the heels of its plans to fully electrify its 2023/24 lineup, reflecting the company’s future-geared outlook.

This embrace of NFT artwork is, if not a given, a logical step for Lamborghini, explains CEO and Chairman Stephan Winkelmann: “Lamborghini and the NFT community fit together very well, as we share many values. We are both young-spirited innovators, looking out for unexpected projects and technological solutions.”

The NFT is produced by two key players in the digital-crypto space: music producer Steve Aoki and artist Krista Kim, both well-versed in the intersection of the physical and digital. Kim is creating the visual art—and will also customize the car itself—while Aoki will create a unique soundtrack for the NFT. In merging automotive, art and music at the intersection of concrete and concept, Lamborghini and the artists, in partnership with INVNT GROUP, are rewriting what is typical—and possible—as we speed toward this increasingly digital era.
