Jonathan Simkhai Fall/ Winter 2020

Jonathan Simkhai admired the works of photographer Julius Shulman while designing his Fall/ Winter 2020 collection. Schulman’s skill lies in capturing the essence of a subject in raw form, inspiring Simkhai’s clean, deconstructed, and geometric silhouettes. The trench coat is dissected and reworked in many looks, while others draw inspiration from his memories in Iran. Paisley jacquard, tonal woven tassels and fringe, and colors like paprika, cardamom, and cumin, pay homage to his heritage.
