Dover Street Market LA & Sotheby’s Present A Fine Jewels Exhibition

by Chris Maghsodi

Dover Street Market Los Angeles and Sotheby’s New York are coming together for a special exhibition, showcasing a collection of jewels derived from the auction house’s upcoming Fine Jewels sale.  The exhibition for the collection will be stationed in the luxury retailer DSMLA founded by the iconic Rei Kawakubo, founder and creative director of world renowned fashion house Commes des Garcons. Where fashion, art, and design all meet to push the limits of what kind of experience a customer should encounter.  Enhancing their shopping experience, while looking for pieces from their favorite designers latest seasonal lines. In a sense you are going into each designers world, when standing in each significantly unique section where brands are set up to showcase what they represent to clientele.

The exhibition will take course over three upcoming days this fall, Friday, September 13th through Sunday, September 15th.  The DSM curated selection of fine jewelry will juxtapose around the Kawakubo space, combining experience meshing fine jewelry with works by collage artist Sammy Slabbnick, commissioned by the artist to DSMLA to coexist next to the fine auctioned jewelry on display.

More than a range of 20 jewels will be presented at this special exhibition.  Ranging from Diamond, Onyx, Emerald, Enamel Brooch, Van Cleef & Arpels, a Diamond ‘L’Air’ Ring, Chanel, a selection of cameo and intaglio rings, to a Gold Micromosaic and Past Brooch.  There will be presented a little of something for everyone.
