Diplo x Carnage | 'Letting People Go'

Carnage, a Guatemalan-American record producer and DJ released “Letting People Go” less than two months ago and it’s already amassed 3.6 million views on YouTube and 7.5 million cross platform streams. What’s more, this emotional track is a personal homage to the harsh realities of immigration. Carnage himself dedicates this track to “all the families that have been split in border towns all over the U.S.”

Carnage’s original music video for the track even traces him and his families journey as they navigated from Nicaragua to Guatemala, through Mexico and the U.S.

After hearing ‘Letting People Go’, award-winning DJ Diplo contacted Carnage about the possibility of revamping the track into a “dance floor banger”—which Carnage describes the remix as. He goes on to say, “My brother Diplo hit me up the day I dropped the record and said he needed to get his hands on it.”

Diplo’s head bouncing, foot-pounding remix takes away the slower tempo of the original track and gives it a more dance hall feel—all while maintaining the emotional vocals from pop trio Prinze George.

Carnage ft. Prinze George ‘Letting People Go’ (Diplo Remix) is out now. A portion of the revenue generated from the original track and the remix will be donated to the RAICES Foundation—a nonprofit agency that provides free and low-cost legal services to immigrant families based in Texas.
