Devon DeJardin | ‘Giants’ at Albertz Benda

Devon DeJardin opens his first solo gallery exhibition at New York City’s Albertz Benda. For ‘Giants,’ the Los Angeles-based artist delves into the realm of literature, tapping into the device of spiritual allegory in order to reinvigorate, and subsequently interrogate, mythological tales.

DeJardin questions and reframes existing ideas about spirituality and spiritual tradition through his large-scale pieces. The works—giants in their own right—depict objects the self-taught artist refers to as ‘Guardians.’ The geometric shapes converse and interact with one another in each piece, imbuing his ready-explored concepts of nonreligious guidance and protection with more collaborative notions of growth and resilience, wherein the geometric forms almost build upon one another.

The show is on view in NY at Albertz Benda from June 30 until August 5, 2022.
