Flaunt Premiere | "Church St." by Angelica Olstad
by Morgan Vickery
Forget everything you normally associate classical music with — Angelica Olstad comes in with her unconventional approach to the genre. By combining deconstructed classical piano with electronic music and multimedia elements, the New York-base is set to re-contextualize classical music in modern society.

After releasing her first EP Versions in 2018, the artist is now making a comeback with Catalyze — an EP written during a music residency at Banff Centre for Creativity and the Arts. “It’s a provocation of the timelessness of human experience through a celebration of music that has been around for hundreds of years, a testament to the power of the human spirit,” the musician said.
The first single from her new EP, “Church St.”, is a mesh of calming nature and city chaos, a place where two very distinct entities become one. Consider this your Friday self-care treat and a relaxing jumpstart to your weekend.
