The French-American duo Bruises is broadening musical horizons by tapping into the new wave genre with fusions of trip-hop and psychedelic rock. This neoteric sound is accredited to the talent of Adah Dylan and producer/composer Max Sokolinski.
Adah Dylan, the leader of Bruises, interweaves her passion for poetry into the music. It is evident that the duo's catchy yet melancholy tracks normalize the feeling of delusion and disillusion, which can also be interpreted as a dissatisfied perspective on the new generation. The name Bruises derives from a metaphor for the ‘scars of our times.’ This innovative sound and message has landed Bruises performances for Gucci, Paco Rabanne, Marc Jacobs. Most recently, the duo released a single “La Javanaise”—a revisit of an iconic French song. “La Javanaise” is a free-spirited track that certainly sets a high precedent for Bruises’ upcoming EP “Burning,” which is set to release on June 10th.
In essence, if you’re seeking a sound that can double as your dance party song and your dissociating track, check out Bruises.
