Alexander McQueen debuted their SS23 collection First Sight in London on Oct. 11th under a large bubble-like dome. According to creative director Sarah Burton, the womenswear collection “is about searching for humanity and human connection.” The clothes were mostly black, with touches of vibrant red, blue, and orange-some looks included a large printed eye. “The eye is a symbol of that humanity, a register of emotion, an expression of uniqueness. Our clothes are designed to empower. They are stripped back, dissected and focused on cut, drape and silhouette. We also looked at the work of Hieronymus Bosch, at once dark and beautiful.”
