Rufus Wainwright releases new song at The Art of Elysium

by Amy Marie Slocum

On April 28th singer, songwriter, Rufus Wainwright released his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s infamous song "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)" (1970). Listen here. With no need for comparison the two tracks are so far from each other, if it wasn’t for the words and title it would be hard to uncover that the two tunes are from the same lineage. Wainwright does this song justice by putting his own smooth melancholy spin to it.

A celebration the evening prior for the newly released track and complimentary video was held in conjunction with the non-profit organization, The Art of Elysium, raising awareness about the associated Elysium Bandini Studios. The Art of Elysium, founded by Jennifer Howell, is celebrating its 20th year of encouraging actors, artists, and musicians to dedicate their talents to charity. EBS, with partners like James Franco and Vince Jolivette and associated with The Art of Elysium, is a film and video streaming studio platform that supports young artists. For $10 dollars a month subscribers can view all EBS content and the funds will go back into the charity supporting young artists and filmmakers.

The night at Elysium Art Salons in Los Angeles also featured photographer Patrick Fraser’s latest work and delicious eats by Top Chef’s Katsuji Tanabe. With four out of five senses taken care of, it was a beautiful night to touch the guests’ hearts all in the name of a good cause.
