Sneak Attack: New Black Panther Trailer Features Killer Tracks From Kendrick Lamar, Vince Staples, and SZA

Like a cat, the new Black Panther trailer, leapt across prime-time commercial break airwaves during the College Football Playoff Championship last night. Sights were most everything Marvel fans could expect from the second gen trailer: Open with Andy Serkis wondering, “the King of a Third World country runs around in a bulletproof catsuit?”

And the answer? Hell yes, he does. Enter Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa in uniform, Michael B. Jordan as nemesis Killmonger fighting on, over, and under metal-mod structures of technologically advanced nation Wakanda, and stunning glimpses of Queen Lupita Nyong'o. Close with the necessary CGI’d metallic graphics “Black Panther” and fade out to... Hold up, is that King Kendrick on the mic?

It's apparent that spitfire Big Fish artist Vince Staples has also joined the impressive cast of artists collaborating on the Marvel project’s soundtrack, which already included CTRL artist SZA and Kendrick for the production lead ballad “All The Stars.”

Top Dawg Entertainment has the killer Black Panther soundtrack, featuring the music of Kendrick and more, available for pre-order now. Listeners can pounce on the album's official release on February 8, a week before the film opens on February 16.
