The Soulful Trip-Hop Performance of Niia at The Hammer Museum

The Hammer Museum celebrates summer with four free nights of live concerts in the museum’s courtyard. Last week (July 13) Flaunt attended the concert featuring performances by SPELLES, and KCRW DJ Annie Litt, but it was Niia who truly stole the show.
In a black Dion Lee form hugging dress and slicked back hair, Niia entranced the crowd with her dark yet sophisticated beauty and swept them away with mystical jazz vocals. The soul musician released her latest album, I, with Atlantic Records in early May and has since landed features in LA Times, The New York Times, and more. Her Trip-Hop style is portrayed in harmonious themes of love and decay throughout the album and specifically in "Hurt You First":

You're too perfect
Too perfectly orchestrated
The rich vocals and heartfelt poetry of Niia’s artistry are one to look out for in years to come.
