Art collective Damarosa Collective hosted JANE SENT US, a fundraising event at LA River Center & Gardens to raise funds for reproductive rights on October 19. All ticket proceeds went to SisterSong and The Brigid Alliance, activist organizations that fund abortion care and reproductive justice. The event was inspired by The Jane Collective, an underground service in Chicago in pre-Roe v. Wade times that helped people access safe and affordable abortion access.

The event showcased video art installations, You Are Not Alone by Britt Bogan and Godly Woman by Codi Barbini and Mali Bowers, as well as a screening of short films on reproductive rights, including The Jane Collective-inspired Jane by Natalija Vekic, and Get The Life, No Heartbeat, and Abortion Helpline.

SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective is a membership organization to improve institutional policies and systems for reproductive care in marginalized communities. The Brigid Alliance is a referral-based service that provides abortion-seeking people with travel, food, housing, child care, and other forms of support. They emphasize care for clients who are past 15 weeks pregnant, when it’s often harder to find the care they need.
