Multidimensional graffiti was the concept of this years spring/summer 2018 fashion show for Comme Des Garçons in Paris. Rei Kawakubo, the creative director of Comme Des Garçons, designed three-dimensional art and color mashups which--traditional for the brand. The Japanese label is famous for their over-the-top dresses.

This year the show was held at the Russian Embassy in Paris with polished wood floors and ornamental glass panels hanging from the ceiling. Kawakubo's conceptual graffiti inspiration highlighted pieces with detail. Dresses had exploding silhouettes, massive sleeves, heeled Nike boxing shoes, and extraordinary accessories.

The collection featured the works of nine artists dating back all the way to the 16th century. Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo's fruit face portraits were included in two pieces and Dutch artist Abraham Mignon is responsible for the bright florals. Julien d'Y is the mastermind behind the kitschy toy garments featuring Hello Kitty dolls, cupcake iPhone cases, and more. The show itself was a work of art and Rei Kawakubo continues to shock the world with her playful sculpture-like designs.
