HERMES HOSTS EXHIBITION FOR CHAINE D’ANCRE PUNK LINE

Last night, October 18, Hermés Beverly Hills hosted an in-store exhibition to discover the label's newest gold and silver jewelry collection Chaine D’ancre Punk. It was curated by Floor Director of Hermés, Jessica Fuentes.
Back in 1938, Robert Dumas of Hermés drew inspiration from a ship's anchor chain while walking on a docking port in Normandy. This inspiration correlated with the house's original roots of the horse's harness and has become a vital icon in creating bijouterie. The Chaine D’ancre Punk collection embodies Hermés’ classic antiquity while possessing the intuition to reinvent itself.
Pierre Hardy, creative director of Hermés fine jewelry division, deconstructs in order to better rebuild. Hardy revolutionizes the Chaine d’ancre link into a safety pin, recalling the most adumbrative accessory of the "punk" wardrobe while still challenging the established order.
The in-store exhibition exemplifies the Chaine D’ancre collection using display totems inspired by the deconstructive and dauntless themes embodied in the collection. It was previously showcased in San Francisco in September and will present again in Houston in November. Check out the photos from last night's event in the gallery above.
