GOSHA RUBCHINSKIY’S REVEALS AW18 COLLECTION IN Yekaterinburg

Marking the final spot on a three-city tour of Russia, that began back for AW17, Gosha Rubchinskiy showcased his latest collection for Autumn/ Winter 2018 in the cold city of Yekaterinburg, Russia. The show was held at the Yeltsin Centre museum dedicated to Russia’s first democratically elected president, Boris Yeltsin. The designer continued his iconic collaborations with German sportswear giant Adidas--the third year in a row--and also included Levi's, Dr Martens, and even brought back pieces with Burberry.
At the show, models stormed out in front of artwork by pioneering Russian artist Erik Bulatov. Rubchinskiy stated at his show, “When I saw his 'a friend suddenly turns to foe' work for the first time, for me it was all about the moment we are in, the politics. Things change so fast these days, sometimes you don’t have time to work out what’s going on – a friend is suddenly an enemy, an enemy is suddenly a friend. After they showed me it, I asked if we could use it for the collection.”
The collection featured military motifs applied to some of Rubchinskiys’ archives—including camouflage and flags— an attempt, the designer says, to create a new uniform for youth. The show was live streamed for the first time. No matter which collection, every show never fails to impress. See more from the show in the gallery above.
