BVLGARI Debuts an 80's Love Affair with "Wild Pop"

by flaunt

Bvlgari is the world’s most coveted high-end jewelry brand, offering rare gemstones in dramatic colors and grand dimensions, contributing to both tradition and passion in the industry. Known for their expertise in craftsmanship; the luxury brand is iconic for it’s unique and daring approach. In an open love letter to the 1980’s, Bvlgari debuts their new collection, Wild Pop, influenced by women’s power suits, MTV’s inception, and megastars like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, and David Bowie. Andy Warhol embodies a significant part of the new collection, as his affinity for the brand is displayed throughout his work. The Warhol love affair stems from his close-knit friendship with Nicola Bulgari and a conversation they had for Interview Magazine back in the day:

“I think your jewelry is the 80s…Everybody is trying to copy this look.”

-Andy Warhol

In their most vibrant and vivid collection to date, Bvlgari juxtaposes timeless style with kaleidoscope hues. Inspired by record players, cannabis, and blinged-out microphones; the Wild Pop collection was born. We stopped by the 5th Avenue store to catch a glimpse of the electric 80’s rom-com collection:
