The Cartorialist, who will attend The Other Art Fair

The Other Art Fair is coming to LA! Be warned: this isn’t your average art experience. TOAF, presented by original online curator Saatchi Art, has been taking the art world by storm in the UK for the past six years, and will now cast its glow on the streets of downtown LA. On March 15 through 18, TOAF will come to historic building, The Majestic Downtown, to showcase the work of over 100 independent artists which have been chosen by a qualified panel of art aficionados.

What makes TOAF anything but average exactly? Its format. Unlike traditional art galleries, TOAF uses an interactive and highly immersive structure. TOAF showcases the artists themselves as works of art, rather than their work. Artists will be on site to answer questions directly and sell their work. So if you’re wondering why in the world they used that color, or what that shape symbolizes, you can ask! In addition, the artists will highlight their unique talent with live performances and creations. You can check out live installations, or get your portrait drawn by a renowned artist  These performances will indulge your sense of sight, sound and touch. If you are looking to awaken your taste buds or sense of smell, you can check out Adam Fleischman’s PBJ.LA food stand.

You get unrivaled accessibility paired with unique experiences at TOAF. The emerging roster of talent heralds to LA from all over the world, but they all one thing in common: their ability to energize both first time and experienced art collectors with vibrant pieces. Unlike ordinary showings, which feature as few female artists as 20 percent, TOAF plays host to almost 60 percent. TOAF pays no mind to gender, ethnicity or nationality. Their fresh approach can be appreciated at a private viewing on March 15, or during their general entry period from March 16 to 18.
